CHA, however, is coming up this week and there are tons of great new products coming out that I will be ordering for arrival in September. Keep checking back for product updates!

Free Spirit

This months crop was another great success! All of the new CHA products were flying off of my vendor table and the pages being created at the crop with these new items were so beautiful. With Scraptacular coming up next month everyone is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the March and April releases of new products. These companies include Tattered Angels, Zva Creative, Ranger, Sizzix, Tim Holtz, Prima Marketing and others. I will keep you posted as to their arrival and feel free to contact me to make a shopping appointment for first dibs on these products before I set up at the next crop.
Despite being so busy at the crop this weekend I managed to complete a few layouts that I have yet to photograph, but for now I will share a layout that I completed at last months crop of my sister Jenna.I have completed another 5 layouts but cannot share them with you yet as they are being published in Junes issues of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine. They will be doing a feature on me in their "Passport to Creativity" column, so you will be able to view these layouts as well as an interview with me when the issue is released. Thanks again to all of you who commented on my layout of my take of the cover in the March issue, and thank-you to Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker for the wonderful prize that I received for doing the layout. You can check out her product line at http://www.nikkisivils.com/
Until next time, happy scrappin'!!

New and amazing products on the way!

Just an update to let you know that new products are on the way including Tim Holtz's new Distress Ink line as well as Sizzix machines and dies. Tattered Angels and BasicGrey also have some exciting new lines that I drooled over at CHA in Anaheim last month! Many of you have already pre-ordered these items, but for those of you who have not, you can come shop at my vendor table at this months crop on base on the weekend of March 19th.Also, check back in early April for upcoming class info. My next canvas class in scheduled for April 24 th in St.Paul and images of the project will be posted shortly.
Don't forget to pick up a copy of this months Canadian Scrapbooker and check out some interesting ways of using tissue paper (this article inspired me to use tissue paper in my upcoming canvas class and I can't wait to share my technique with my students). Also, take a peek at the inside flap and see my layout of my take of the cover.
As Spring is drawing near and the snow is starting to melt, I am itching to get outdoors and snap a few photo's. Yesterday I took a couple pics at the park with a friend and her children and I thought I would share a couple. The other pic above is of me in front of the Bo Bunny booth at CHA last month.
Until next time, happy scrapbooking!!

T-Shirt Inspiration!

Top layout by Jaime Brash
Bottom layout by Celine Cowan)
Hello Bloggers! After a wonderful Holiday Season with my family in British Columbia I have returned home to find myself experiencing serious "scappers block"!! The other night my friend Celine and I got together for a night of scrapping and all I could do was sit and stare at a blank page, refusing to commit to any one piece of patterned paper! Celine however, revived my inspiration by color photocopying a graphic t-shirt of hers onto cardstock! Needless to say we set out with similar materials and were pleasantly surprised with the results of our layouts! Both of us distressed all additional elements in order to coordinate with the grungy paper. My solid black cardstock was too stark so I buffed around the edges to give a smoky effect. Likewise, my American Crafts Thickers were far too shiny so I smudged my white Ranger paint dabber over top. The final touch on my layout was making a flower out of a scrap of material to mimic the textured effect of the t-shirt patterned paper. I chose to try my hand at using the patterned paper in a standard printing size and Celine went larger by using more of the print with two pieces of paper. She hid the joining lines of the paper by covering it in material and lace. This is a great technique when you do not have a 12x12 printer on hand. We had so much fun that we have rounded up some more of her T-Shirts to scan (we all know my clothes are far too boring to use!) and I hope to have another shirt patterned LO posted soon! As for new CHA releases, well I have to say that I am very excited about the long over do 12 new Tim Holtz Ink Pad colors! I am also anxious to get my hands on his new Big Shot dies that are coming out! Check out his blog for sneak peaks of his new product lines. Likewise, Tattered Angels will be introducing Heidi Swapps signature color lines which will coordinate with almost all of her products. Prima Marketing also has a huge release of some fabulous new products that are sure to inspire!
